Instruction for the Cultural Heritage of COMAER

The article discusses the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the Air Force Command (COMAER), highlighting the lack of clear guidelines for the protection of cultural assets within military organizations. This absence of guiding procedures creates insecurity among commanders in making decisions about what to preserve, discard, or restore. The text proposes the development of an Administrative Control Instruction (ICA) that provides guidance on the conservation of cultural assets, promoting uniformity in actions and reducing costs associated with technical advisory. The cultural heritage of COMAER is presented as the result of five centuries of history, with roots tracing back to the early days of Brazilian aviation, including figures like Bartolomeu Lourenço de Gusmão and Alberto Santos Dumont. The valorization of this heritage is considered strategic for affirming regional diversities and for building citizenship in a globalized world.
