Abstract

The article discusses the importance of combat capability for air forces under adverse weather conditions and during darkness. The ability to locate and identify targets is crucial for military effectiveness, especially in regions where weather can be a limiting factor. Modern technologies, such as the NIGHTBIRD system, which combines FLIR and night vision goggles, are essential for enabling effective operations at any time of day. The integration of target acquisition systems is fundamental to ensure that armed forces can operate efficiently, denying the enemy the advantage of conducting operations in low visibility periods. The article emphasizes the need to equip aircraft with reliable systems to maximize combat effectiveness.
