The Kosovo War, which took place in 1999, was marked by NATO's intervention in response to the ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Milosevic's government. The Allied Force Operation, initiated on March 24, utilized a combination of airstrikes with over 650 aircraft, targeting the military infrastructure of Yugoslavia. The campaign highlighted the effectiveness of Aerospace Power, allowing NATO to avoid casualties in ground combat, but also generated controversies regarding target selection and collateral damage to civilians, impacting the alliance's image. The operation also underscored the importance of communication and integration among military units, as well as opening discussions about the future of warfare and the use of new technologies.
