Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Crew Resource Management (CRM) training as a way to improve the man-machine interface as well as interpersonal airborne activities, verifying its consequences to the Brazilian Air Force helicopter squadrons. With this objective an investigation was conducted througho ut the Contributing Factors linked with the crew performance revealed on aircraft mishaps in two distinctive periods: before and after the CRM training implementation. A survey was also designed in to verify the current stage of training achievements and its influence over researched organizations according to CRM managers to determine the current CRM implementation stage. The theoretical research basis was delimited by the revision of benchmark concepts correlating the human interaction with the aeronautical mean and its consequences to aviation safety, and, the acquisition ways of behaviors in the social context, cited by Bandura, Ajzen e Fishbein as key idea involving the CRM training as an operacional resource With the results achieved, it was not possible to infer that CRM doctrine is consolidated in a new “modus operandi” within the helicopter squadrons, which would result in an improvements of its flight safety culture.
