This article aims to provide a reflection about the possibility of products in the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base have their
nationalization process improved, according to the new Brazilian National Defense Strategy, presenting a proposal to create a
nationalization center of defense products in the structure of the Brazilian State Department of Defense. The basis that supports this study is the Brazilian National Defense Strategy, approved in December, 2008 that states the future of defense in Brazil as well as the research in specialized publications. The expected outcome of the work is a proposal for an organizational structure appropriate to the Brazilian State Department of Defense in order to promote synergy between the Armed Forces to reach a technically reasoned process of the defense products and to have it standardized with orderly execution, providing the desirable independence in new technologies. In this matter, it is mandatory that the proposal should be understood as the effectuation of the Brazilian National Defense Strategy precepts to leverage the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base, being this initiative no longer a theoretical and rhetoric expression, but a real achievement to ensure the development and the sustainability of the Brazilian Defense Industry. The used methodology consisted of researches in scientific publications, bibliographic sources and in surveys among organizations involved with nationalization of defense products besides the expertise acquired by the authors in the subject.
