O preparo de tropa de Infantaria da Aeronáutica para Operações de Paz: percepção de militares que atuaram na missão das Nações Unidas para a estabilização no Haiti.

Abstract

Objective: to analyze
the preparation of troops with a view to employment in Peace Operations, based on the perception of the
military, commanders of the Air Force Infantry Platoon (PINFA) and graduates. It is intended
verify that the protocols used in the training are in accordance with the recommendations of the UN
and attended to what was needed on the job. Method: qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach
for interviews with military personnel with experience in MINUSTAH. The questionnaire included five
parts: professional profile, preparation for mission, evaluation in relation to the preparation for action in the
missions and questions about lessons learned, training gaps, and suggestions for improvement.
For the analysis, we chose to use tables and descriptive statistics in the interpretation of the
data collected, with subsequent discussion of the results. Results: it is possible to identify that the
Training received was important, but the participating platoons had different backgrounds.
It was identified that the participation in MINUSTAH brought operational gains to the Infantry, used,
for example, in a Law and Order Assurance (GLO) mission. Conclusions: the FAB has established
a preparation that meets the competencies recommended by the UN. Evaluation of the preparation: based on
in MINUSTAH participants, can contribute to a more appropriate training, so that
make them able to act in a real situation for the benefit of society.
