The US military intervention in Libya in 1986 marked a significant point in the relations between the two countries, which had been deteriorating since 1979. The conflict began with planned airstrikes against strategic targets aimed at destabilizing Muammar Gaddafi's regime. Despite the Libyan forces' response, which included missile launches, the effectiveness of the American operations was evident, resulting in Gaddafi's retreat and a decrease in his aggressive stance. The operation highlighted the US military's capabilities and the importance of strategic planning in international conflicts.
