The article discusses the importance of specialized training in Aerospace Medicine for Squadron Physicians in the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). The current training is deemed insufficient, leading to deficiencies in medical practice in aviation situations. The proposal is to create an Advanced Course in Aerospace Medicine (CAMAE) at the Air Force Academy (AFA), which would include theoretical and practical disciplines, aiming to prepare physicians for the specific challenges of aviation. The implementation of the course is feasible, utilizing already available resources, and would bring significant benefits in terms of flight safety and operational efficiency in the short, medium, and long term.
