Abstract

The article discusses the complex reality of the Amazon, emphasizing the need for effective control over the region due to unregulated exploitation and lack of oversight. The colonization of the Amazon was marked by exploratory cycles that resulted in environmental and social issues, such as environmental degradation and increased drug trafficking. Strengthening the state's presence is deemed essential to tackle these challenges. The text also addresses the training of pilots to operate R-99 aircraft, highlighting the importance of adequate training that does not compromise the availability of the aircraft. The proposal to maintain the basic training of pilots without using the R-99 aircraft is presented as a viable solution to ensure sovereignty over the Amazon.
