Survival Instruction in the Jungle and at Sea - Operational Training

Abstract

The article discusses the importance of reimplementing survival instructions in the training of Brazilian Air Force cadets. The analysis reveals that, despite the knowledge acquired over the years, newly graduated officers lack operational training to face real survival situations. The absence of curricular support and the scarcity of time for practical instruction are highlighted as major obstacles. The text proposes a reevaluation of the minimum curricula of training courses to include practical survival instructions. The reimplementation of these instructions is deemed essential for preserving life in critical situations, emphasizing that a living combatant is priceless. The article concludes that adequate training for cadets is crucial to minimize risks in the event of aviation accidents.
