Abstract

The article discusses the preparation of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to conduct rescue operations for downed illicit aircraft. Following the interception and downing of a suspicious aircraft involved in drug trafficking, dilemmas arise regarding how to proceed with the rescue of occupants, who may be armed and in danger. The text emphasizes the importance of effective coordination between the FAB and law enforcement authorities, such as the Federal Police, and proposes the use of armed helicopters to ensure safety during the operation. Additionally, it highlights the need for proper training and the presence of qualified personnel to handle the complexities of such missions.
