Abstract

I aim to compare the aerospace industry of Sweden, Italy, and Brazil. These countries have significant similarities (e.g., aerospace industry, middle power status), but also very large disparities (membership in military alliances, disparate levels of development). An analysis of this kind is important to identify the factors that most impact the aerospace industry and how and why they have this correlation. Italy has built over the centuries and now, tied to the alliance, a strong aerospace industrial base and is gradually aiming to develop other partnerships. Meanwhile, Sweden, with its, is now entering NATO and although its companies are already at the technological forefront, changes are expected, especially in the relationship between spending and GDP %. Brazil has an advanced aerospace cluster for a developing country, but it is falling behind and this tendency will only be reversed by necessary measures in investment, R&D, budgetary management, among others.
