defense of Amazônia

Abstract

The objective of this study is to rethink the conception of the dissuasive strategy of the Brazilian Air force (FAB) that is relatively capable of answering the threats to the territorial integrity and the national security, referring to the possible conflicts, with neighboring countries of the North, in defense of the Amazônia. For the methodological aspect, the exploratory character was attributed for the collection of the data, through the bibliographical research, aiming to analyze as possible, the present, with a greathistorical depth of the past to explain the evolution of the facts. In that way, it was privileged a focus in the new conception of the strategic dissuasion, through an extensive literature revision starting from the modern perceptions concerning the Theory of the Aerial Power and the subject of the National Defense, until the current geopolitics scenery, where the subject of the internationalization of the Amazônia was highlighted. In that sense, it is believed to be priority for FAB the technological modernization; however until it becomes a reality, the old but still not outdated guerrilla tactics should be the best alternative to discourage a possible enemy.
