Abstract

This article aims to analyze the impacts of multi-domain thinking on Aerospace Power. For such, a literature review was used as a methodology with an emphasis on doctrinal documentation. Thus, it was characterized that multi-domain thinking translates into a broad way of thinking about the use of military and non-military means, considering the classical domains added to the space, cyberspace, electromagnetic, and cognitive (human) domains. Still, pondering over the existing capacities and how they could be employed, essentially in a convergent manner in time and space, overcoming vulnerabilities, if applied separately, to achieve synergistic and compelling results that cause dilemmas in the opponent, degrading their willingness to react. The multi-domain thinking has evolved conceptually since the doctrinal initiatives from the US Armed Forces, reflected in NATO and ongoing war Russia and Ukraine, as new technological resources are incorporated. The constituent elements of the equation of Integral Aerospace Power were used as a method of impact analysis. It has been demonstrated that there is a tendency that present conflicts and future ones will happen in multidomain environments, leading to the promotion of policies to develop the aerospace sector, alliances to countries that have more economic resources and military means, changes in command and control structures, review of joint military doctrines, adaptations of the decision-making process, training airmen to fit the multi-domain way of thinking and a new approach to obtain aerospace superiority.

    Officer of the Brazilian Air Force since 1998, currently holding the rank of Colonel serving as an Instructor at the Air Command and Staff School (ECEMAR). He holds a Master's degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, specializing in Microwaves and Optoelectronics, from the Aeronautics Technological Institute - ITA (2018), and a Master's degree in Strategy and Geopolitics from the Colombian War School (2022). He has a specialization in Electromagnetic Environment Analysis from the Aeronautics Technological Institute - ITA (2008), a specialization in Public Management and Employment of the Air Force from UFF/EAOAR (2013), and a specialization in Strategic Planning and Management from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (2019). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences with a focus in Aeronautics Infantry (2001) from the Air Force Academy (AFA).
