The Case of Transferring the Headquarters of an Organization Air Force Military

This article is part of the academic challenge of producing teaching cases with characteristics of direct application in the teaching-learning process, also seeking to describe a model for the construction of many others. In this report, the results of the research effort and interviews implemented in the Real Case Studies Laboratory discipline are revealed, during the completion of the Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Logistics, carried out by the agreement between the Universidade Federal Fluminense ( UFF) and the University of the Air Force (UNIFA), in 2007. The main references were the manuals from Harvard Business, Richard Ivey School of Business, European Case Clearing House and bibliography by Leenders & Erskine (1989). The teaching case methodology was developed through the real case of the transfer of the headquarters of the 1st/11th Aviation Group, from Santos Air Base to Natal Air Base, allowing the understanding and analysis of factors related to logistics issues , process management, project management and, transversally, decision-making by a manager of a formally hierarchical organization regarding the management of its human resources. In the end, the present case concludes with the possibilities of application in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, presenting the teaching notes for use by the teaching staff, as well as identifying the contribution as a reference for organizational learning in similar cases.
