Abstract

The article explores the progress of avionics, emphasizing how microelectronics has enabled the development of advanced systems in military aircraft. With an increasing need to reduce space and weight while enhancing capacity and reliability, armed forces have adopted on-board computers to manage complex weapon and flight control systems. The application of new technologies has introduced logistical and operational challenges, requiring adaptations in both maintenance and personnel training. The integration of software and hardware has revolutionized the operation of aircraft like the F-15 and F-16, redefining the concept of "black boxes" in aviation.
