Abstract

The article discusses the importance of emotional intelligence (EI) in the context of the Brazilian Aeronautics, emphasizing how emotions influence human decisions and actions. The evolution of the human brain, with the development of the neocortex over the limbic system, allows for a complex interaction between reason and emotion. Training in EI is essential for improving leadership and effectiveness in the workplace, especially in critical situations where self-control and emotional awareness can prevent disasters. The author argues that implementing emotional literacy programs in military institutions can lead to a more cohesive and productive environment, benefiting professionals' careers and the strength of the Aeronautics.
