Implementation of Laser Guided Bomb - The Correct Preparation

The article discusses the importance of implementing the Laser Guided Bomb (LGB) in the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the need for modernization of armaments. The LGB represents a significant advancement in precision and effectiveness of air operations, allowing targets to be hit more efficiently. The text proposes the creation of an operational nucleus and a theoretical course to train FAB officers, aiming for the rapid implementation of the LGB. Additionally, it presents the technical characteristics of the main laser-guided bombs, such as the GBU-12, GBU-16, and GBU-10, and the evolution of the guidance software. The article concludes that proper training and the adoption of new technologies are essential to ensure the effectiveness of air operations and national security.
